Dear 8am Sunday morning Target,
Hey gorg. Wow, you’re stunning. The aisles are clear, the shelves are immaculate, there isn’t a hair of place, queen. You really are that girl, especially this early in the morning. Tbh I’m obsessed with you.
Getting here right as the doors open on a sunny Sunday morning is simply top tier. Elite. I wish this shopping experience for everyone. Though maybe not everyone bc then it would ruin the vibe.
The price to pay for this elite shopping experience is waking up early. The key is to just throw on an oversized tee and giant sunglasses to cover the bags under your eyes if you have them, but listen, I know you don’t judge.
The joy I feel browsing the aisles with nary a human nearby is second to none. I’m free to peruse make-up and skincare uninterrupted. I can smell all the body washes without feeling weird. The grocery aisles are well stocked. The home decor is immaculate. The vibes are vibing. I could even get a Starbucks, it’s right upstairs! And it’s early enough that there’s no line. Or I could order it on my phone, keep browsing, then pick it up at my leisure! Are you kidding me?!
Bestie, I want to thank you for stocking some of my favorite things. In no particular order, they are:
Alani Nu energy sticks: my pre-workout. Tbh my morning beverage of choice lately. Love.
Elf cosmetics: Camo concealer? Check. Camo liquid blush? Check. Incredibly affordable makeup that’s actually pretty nice? CHECK.
Personal care I’m obsessed with: Versed skincare, Saltair body wash, Billie razors—all stunning tysm
An in-store Ulta: When I’m feeling bougie, or if I just want to smell all the Ouai hair products, that option is available and I’m grateful for it.
Seasonal designer collections: I have a Sandy Liang fleece and Nili Lotan jacket that I’m obsessed with. I will also never forget ordering Stoney Clover Lane items at 3am, and purchasing them in store at opening anyway bc I didn’t trust the employees to grab them fast enough for my pickup order. I was right, they weren’t fast enough. But I was.
Studio McGee and Threshold home decor: Like, it's basically half of my house.
I really just felt the need to sing your praises. Especially right when you open. I have to confess though, I avoid you later in the day. Especially over the weekend. You’re just too popular, girl. The vibe is different when the lines are long, ya know? I know you understand.
Anyway, thanks for listening. I’ll see you next Sunday bestie, bright and early.
xx, Kristen
Ok yes! I actually don’t like to go at any other time now that I know what the Sunday morning feels like!! No lines, clean aisles, quiet browsing with a coffee—obsessed 🤷🏻♀️
This is awesome!! Not sure where you are but here in Australia, Target shut most of their stores and now operate almost solely online. Personally it's not the same for me - I'm still grieving the loss of both Target stores that were local to me.
