I love the last paragraph - it can be so hard sometimes to not desperately long for my twenties again, but I cherish this 32-year-old me who has the WISDOM to care for myself and others. Finally.

I was a theatre student too!!! You've quickly become one of my favourite writers on here, Kristen. I loved the reflective point of view here, I could feel the nostalgia seeping through in every word. So, so good!!

Oh Ella, thank you so so much for this! 😭 It truly means the world, and who knew we’d both be theater girlies! I’m just so full of gratitude for your kind words, you made my weekend 🥹🫶🏼💕

Trident!!! Such a gem. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on your time in Boston. As someone who also went to school there, I relate to the messy, wonderful, nostalgic feeling so get whenever I go back.

Ahhh yes! Where did you go to school? If you hadn’t already guessed, I went to the Boston Conservatory, which is now part of Berklee 🥰 My husband went to BU! So many feelings going back, I used to think I could never spend time there, but this last trip proved me wrong 🤍

I loved this!! I live in Boston and as soon as you described the space I was like “I bet that’s Trident!!” It’s such a cozy and unique little place

I can also relate so much to what you’re saying, also being 36 and recently reconnecting with my past self. The longing and the reflection, it’s so bittersweet.

I hope you get time to come back and sit in your old spot and go to a poetry night soon. 🖤

Eeee I was hoping I’d have a few Boston readers who know the city! I didn’t realize how much I missed Trident until I stepped foot in it more than a decade later 🥹 And yes, I would love to go back and sit in the spot by the window! So much reflecting, so much change 🤍

I haven’t gone back and visited my old college. I may go in November if I’m able to attend a friends wedding at that time because like you it’s in the same area. I’m kind of scared though I know I’ll cry. In college I was THAT GIRL lollll and I had so many hopes and dreams I honestly don’t know if I made her proud and that’s what I’m afraid of 🥺

Omg! The first time I was back in Boston I was honestly a wreck and absolutely cried hahaha. Those 4 years create such an impact on our lives! And I felt the same way—I ended up being in a completely different spot than I envisioned when I graduated. I just needed a few more years to get even more perspective. All of these feelings I wrote about were a surprise. Feeling older, wiser and hotter in Boston just a few years back would have been like… not a thing 😂 Sending you love! And a reminder that you’re exactly where you need to be 🥹💕
