Hi girlies! Welcome back to another edition of the Weekly R.E.P.O.R.T—a cutie little round-up of what I’m reading, eating, playing, obsessing, recommending and treating myself to this week! I love thinking about these posts as a way to catch-up—like we’re yapping on my couch sipping wine, or cozied up in my breakfast nook with coffee and cake. You can choose the vibe 🥰 Let’s dive in!
Reading: Throne of Glass
We’re back, baby! I mentioned in the last R.E.P.O.R.T that I wasn’t reading anything, but was excited about returning to audio books, and that’s exactly what has happened. Spring is finally here, and now that the weather is consistently nice (for the most part), I’m back to walking with a book in my ears. Last summer, I read the entire ACOTAR series and loved it, so the natural next step is to finally get into Throne of Glass.
Tbh I started a few months ago and stopped because SJM likes to take her TIME and I just couldn’t do it. I’m still kind of struggling as I listen, but I know once I get through a slow start, I won’t be able to put it down. The exact same thing happened with ACOTAR, and we’re powering through. If you’re a TOG girlie, even though I know it will, please tell me this thing picks up 😂
Eating: A Turkey and Provolone Sub, Jersey Mikes
Eating a Jersey Mike’s sub feels akin to the start of summer, don’t you think? Turkey sandwiches at the beach or poolside feel romanticized, and even though the pool isn’t open and I’m not at the beach, I indulged in a turkey provolone sub last week and it was gorg. Also side note: as a self-proclaimed mayo queen, I saw a targeted ad for Ayoh! in my feed and now need dill pickle mayo in my life ASAP.
Playing: Grandma Hobbies
It’s official: I’m entering Grandma Hobby summer. My algorithm stumbled into DIY territory and I’m getting fomo because the girls are making CUTE things with sewing machines. I found a local fabric store that offers beginner sewing classes every Saturday and baby, I’m in. Wouldn’t it be so cute to have homemade table linens?? Baking at this point has turned into a cute hobby. I'm at an estate sale every weekend. All I need to do now is sewing, gardening, maybe needle point? Jam making? I’m open to suggestions!

Obsessing: Olive and June Press-On Nails
I’m a press-on girlie and my current set hasn’t budged in almost two weeks. Two weeks! Not one has fallen off and I think that’s a record. I’ve swapped my Crossfit workout for olympic weightlifting workouts this year and press-ons never survived Crossfit class. Happy to report I can move a barbell with fancy nails. I’ve also started taking a hair, skin and nails supplement gummy, which have (hopefully!) made my natural nail stronger too. All in all, I’m obsessed, I’m an Olive and June girlie for life. I’m currently wearing these!
Recommending: The Artist's Way
I’m heading into week three of The Artist's Way and now I’m recommending it. Since I’ve started writing daily morning pages, I’m definitely feeling my creative self open up more and more, little by little. Sure, some days I’m not sure if it’s…working? But the point is you keep going. Because if you’re showing up to morning pages daily and going on a cute little artist date once a week—it is working. Because you’re doing it! My artist's date was picking up a white platter from an estate sale yesterday that I want to turn into this (!!!), followed by a browse through a vintage market.
The market has incredible vintage vendors, there were so many treasures. I ended up taking home a seashell caviar dish. I also spotted a framed poster of Kirsten, the American Girl and immediately thought of my 10-year old self. In The Artist’s Way, Julia Cameron mentions that your creative self is a child, and your date every week is an opportunity to take your creative inner child out to do something fun. Seeing Kirsten was a little nod to my inner creative self—I was obsessed with all things American Girl growing up and Kirsten was obviously my favorite since our names are basically the same. I loved that I saw her on my date!

Treating: Cosmos and Caviar
I had a girls night for Met Gala Monday this past week! We ate caviar and drank cosmos and it was absolutely delightful. Imperia Caviar very kindly sent two tins of caviar to try, the girls brought Chick Fil A and we ate them over waffle fries, nuggets and blinis. Imperia was WAY better than the Whole Foods salmon roe I indulged in on Valentine’s Day, so I’ve noted that now moving forward. (hehe) On The Rocks cocktails came in clutch again with premade cosmopolitans. Everyone was truly obsessed with the lemon drop martinis from happy hour, and the cosmos were just as good! I’m honestly all about the premade cocktail, it makes hosting a breeze and On The Rocks is so good! I was also incredibly proud of the tablescape—every single item is an estate sale find, and nothing cost more than $9. A dream!
And that’s a wrap! How was your week? As always, I love chatting in the comments so feel free to say hi 🥰 And Happy Mother’s Day! I celebrated Mother’s Day with my mom yesterday—I made a mocha chocolate icebox cake for her that was promptly devoured. Ina never misses. Have a wonderful Sunday!
xx, Kristen
